Privacy
Pidge is a small student-run service. This is everything we do with your data.
- What we collect
- If you join the waitlist we store the email you give us, what you tell us you want to follow (your selected chips and anything you type in the follow box), your optional answer to “where are you?”, and when you signed up. If you use Instant Search, we temporarily store the search you typed, its structured interpretation, and which results were returned so we can improve matching quality.
- What we use it for
- To email you when Pidge+ opens, and later to send the alerts you asked for, and to improve whether Pidge returns relevant opportunities for a search. If you later sign in with the same verified address, we may show you that earlier request so you can choose whether to bring it into your account; we never activate it silently. Nothing else. We do not sell this data or put it on marketing lists. Our database, email, hosting, and model providers process only what is needed to operate those features on our behalf.
- Where it lives
- In our database, hosted within the EU. The job postings shown on the site are public information from the colleges' own listings and always link back to the original posting.
- Analytics and cookies
- We use cookieless Analytics to understand visits to the public site. For signed-in accounts we record daily product activity and a small set of milestones—such as account creation, first sign-in, first search, first save, first tracked search and upgrade—without copying email addresses, search text, CVs or listing content into those events. Instant Search requires a Pidge account so the daily allowance follows the signed-in user instead of an IP address or anonymous browser token. Repeating the same normalized query does not use another Free search.
- Agent and API access
- Our public opportunity API records the full request URL and parameters, IP address and forwarding chain, user-agent string, any supplied agent name, response status and timing, and the returned listing payload. We use this to attribute agent traffic, investigate abuse, understand which integrations are useful, and decide what access to offer next. Requests for expanded agent access also store the contact details and use case submitted in the form.
- How long search data stays
- Instant Search text and result logs are removed after 30 days. Daily allowance counters contain a one-way hash of the account identifier and are removed after 90 days. Raw public API interaction records are kept for 90 days. Agent access requests remain while we assess or support the requested integration, and can be removed on request.
- Deleting your data
- Signed-in users can permanently delete their account and private Pidge data from the Account section of their profile. An attached Pidge+ membership is cancelled immediately; Stripe may retain previous payment records where legally required. You can also email hello@pidge.watch and we will delete any data you provided us.
- Who we are
- Pidge is a small student-run project. It is independent and not affiliated with the University of Oxford or any college.
